NEEED OF PHILADELPHIA RECEIVES GRANT FROM ENTERPRISE HOLDINGS FOUNDATION

​Philadelphia, PA – June 10th, 2014 - Networking for Equal Education and Economic Development, otherwise known as N.E.E.E.D ofPhiladelphia has received a three thousand dollar ($3,000) grant from The Enterprise Holdings Foundation. This grant will allow N.E.E.E.D to continue with their mission of providing financial assistance to students seeking higher education and encouraging volunteerism within the Philadelphia School District and communities.

The Enterprise Holdings Foundation, started in 1982 by the company’s founder Jack Taylor, was established to allow the company to giveback to the communities where their customers and employees live and work.  The Foundation has contributed more than $200 million to thousands of registered non-profit efforts since its inception.  Examples of recent gifts include $30 million for college scholarships to support minorities and economically challenged students.  You can read more about the foundation’s history at http://www.enterpriseholdings.com/about-us/corporate-citizenship/our-history/

N.E.E.E.D of Philadelphia is in its 21st year of providing financial assistance to students seeking higher education and to date, has provided assistance to over 144 students, in addition to providing savings bonds or checks to over 71 students within the Philadelphia School District for volunteering within their schools or communities.  N.E.E.E.D of Philadelphia is a 501(C)3  non-profit run by dedicated, concerned citizens of Philadelphia on a mission to elevate the youth of our communities to prosper  in life and become productive citizens.  More on the organization can be found at www.neeedphl.org.
